Metadata in Video Tracking Studies

This survey is conducted by Max Delbrück Centre (MDC) and Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Reserach (UFZ)

Controller: Max Delbrück Center is controller of this survey and the entered data.

Purpose: This survey aims to identify the metadata that researchers consider essential for video tracking studies in ecotoxicology, neuroscience, and behavioral biology. It also seeks to understand the barriers that hinder transparent reporting. Survey responses will be statistically analyzed and reported in aggregated form for research purposes and to support best‑practice recommendations.

Voluntary participation: Participation is voluntary. You can stop at any time before submitting. You can also resume the survey until the survey is active.

Survey duration: ~10-15 minutes

Data handling: Your responses will be anonymized and used only for research purposes. Please do not include names or other identifying details in free‑text answers.

Optional follow‑up: At the end you may optionally provide an email address to receive a summary of results. Your email address (if provided) will be stored separately from your survey responses and used only for this follow‑up. Only personnel of Max Delbrück Center will be allowed access to the saved personal data for the purpose of sending you the survey results. The email will be saved only until end of the project (September 2027) and will then be deleted.
