Help shape the future of citizen science in biodiversity policy!
As part of the BioAgora project, this survey supports the development of a Science Service for Biodiversity, which will form the scientific foundation of the EU’s Knowledge Centre for Biodiversity (KCBD). This service aims to strengthen the science-policy interface in Europe by integrating diverse sources of knowledge, including citizen science. We invite citizen science project managers, coordinators, practitioners, and academics to share their valuable insights. Your experience is essential in identifying practical challenges and untapped opportunities for embedding citizen science into biodiversity policy. In doing so, you will contribute to a set of recommendations designed to enhance the visibility, credibility, and policy relevance of citizen science within European biodiversity governance. Your input will help ensure that citizen science plays a central role in shaping a more inclusive, responsive, and impactful Science Service for Biodiversity.
This survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.
Your answers will be used to generate relevant information for analysis and will be deleted after the process. All written notes will be anonymized before analysis (i.e., your name and position will not appear in any written documents). You have the right to decline participation or withdraw from the study at any time before the finalization of the work.
The data generated from the survey (or any follow-up questions) will be accessible only to the researchers overseeing the BioAgora project. The results and anonymized data can be used throughout the duration of the project (2022-2027) and in the development of the Science Service for Biodiversity. The anonymized data and results will be published as an open-access deliverable submitted to the European Commission, and may also be used in other publications related to BioAgora and the Science Service.
